Refund Policy

Last updated: September 2026

1. General Principle

MicroArts provides custom creative, production and digital services. Because work is created specifically for each client, refunds are based on the stage of work completed rather than a blanket money-back guarantee. This policy applies unless a signed proposal, statement of work or other written agreement states different cancellation or refund terms.

2. Before Work Begins

If you cancel before MicroArts has started substantive project work, fees paid for unstarted Services are generally refundable, excluding non-refundable third-party costs, transaction fees that cannot be recovered, or other costs already incurred specifically for your project.

3. Brand Identity and Business Communication Projects

For brand identity, presentations, reports, proposals, brochures and similar creative projects: before the first creative presentation is delivered, any refund is based on work already performed; after the first creative presentation is delivered but before a direction is approved, up to 50% of the applicable creative fee may be refundable; after a direction is approved or substantial revision work has been completed, refunds are normally not available for the completed milestone; after final files are delivered, the completed work is non-refundable. Any project-specific proposal may set different milestone percentages.

4. Packaging Design and Production Artwork

For packaging design, labels, dielines, artwork adaptation, prepress and print-ready file preparation: cancellation before substantive work begins is generally refundable subject to Section 2; once design/prepress work or the first prepared proof/file has been delivered, fees for the completed work are not refundable; once final production files have been delivered, that completed scope is non-refundable. Printer/manufacturer changes requested after delivery are handled according to the applicable service scope and are not grounds for refund where the delivered work followed the information/specifications originally supplied.

5. Web & Digital Experience Projects

Website and digital projects are generally handled by milestones. A typical structure is: before discovery/kickoff — refundable subject to Section 2; after discovery but before design delivery — refund less work completed; after initial design/mockups are delivered — the completed design milestone is non-refundable; after development begins — completed design/development milestones are non-refundable; after launch or final handover — the project is non-refundable. The project proposal may define more specific milestone percentages and takes precedence where stated.

6. Managed Web & Digital Support

Monthly support plans may be cancelled before the next billing period and remain active through the paid period unless otherwise agreed. For annual plans, unused future service periods may be refundable on a pro-rated basis where practical, less work already completed and non-refundable third-party costs. Work already performed during the current service period is non-refundable.

7. Non-Refundable Costs

The following are not refundable once incurred or delivered: third-party costs such as hosting, domains, paid plugins/themes, stock assets, fonts, premium services, platform fees or supplier charges; rush/priority fees after rush work begins; approved/completed milestones; final files already delivered; and work performed on projects that become inactive because the client has not responded for more than 30 consecutive calendar days.

8. Refund Requests

To request a refund, email info@microarts.biz with the subject “Refund Request — [Project Name]” and include the project/invoice reference, reason for the request and relevant context. We will acknowledge the request within two business days and aim to provide a decision within seven business days after receiving the information needed to review it.

9. Approved Refunds

Approved refunds are normally returned through the original payment method where possible. Processing times depend on the bank, payment provider and transaction method. A refund does not transfer ownership of rejected or unpaid work. If a full refund is issued for a creative stage, the client may not use the refunded concepts or deliverables unless MicroArts agrees otherwise in writing.

10. Chargebacks and Disputes

If you believe a charge is incorrect, please contact MicroArts first so we can investigate and attempt to resolve the issue. Nothing in this policy limits rights you may have under applicable consumer, payment or other mandatory law.

11. Policy Changes

MicroArts may update this Refund Policy from time to time. The policy or project-specific agreement in effect when the relevant project was purchased will generally apply to that project unless both parties agree otherwise in writing.
